Lokesh tweets fake suicide note, Akila Priya’s husband, brother submit fake certificates to court
The Telugu Desam National General Secretary and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Nara Lokesh was caught red handed when he tweeted a fake suicide note claiming that a youth from Kurnool district took his life disappointed that the state government failed to fulfil the promise of giving him a job.
According to a tweet by Mr Lokesh, the youth, Gopal, belonging to Chenubandla village of Kurnool district was so disappointed with the Job Calendar announced by the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government that he took his life on July 4.
Mr Lokesh attached a letter written by Gopal’s brother Srinivas giving the details. The TDP leader tweeted that he would visit Gopal’s family in the village to offer his condolences.
Trying to imitate the “Oodarpuyatra” of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr Lokesh tried to offer condolence to all and sundry without checking out the bonafides of the case.
The local intelligence agencies however got a doubt because no suicide was reported from the village on July 4 and they initiated an inquiry.
The inquiry brought to light that Mr Lokesh had tweeted a fake suicide note. According to the inquiry report Gopal committed suicide six months ago and not on July 4, after the announcement of the Job Calendar as it was claimed.
In the actual suicide note available with the local police Gopal said that nobody was responsible for his death. The relatives then revealed that Gopal took his life because he was depressed about not getting marriage matches.
But in the letter tweeted by Mr Lokesh the suicide victim’s brother Srinivas at the behest of some people claimed that his brother took his life disappointed with the Job Calendar. Later the brother also disowned the letter saying that he was illiterate and simply signed a letter written by people who promised to get compensation from the TDP and A.P. Government citing Gopal’s suicide.
Srinivas told the intelligence agency that he discontinued his education after third class and true to his claim it was found that he could not even write his name properly or sign it.
Fake Covid + certificates
After Mr Lokesh’s debacle with the fake suicide the Telugu Desam Party was subjected to embarrassment yet again when the husband and brother of former TDP Minister Bhooma Akila Priya submitted fake Covid positive certificates to avoid attending court in a kidnap case. The two are still absconding.
Ms Akila Priya’s husband Bhargava Ram and brother Jagatvikytha Reddy are to attend court in a kidnap connected to the Hafeezpet land dispute in Hyderabad.
Instead of attending the court hearing the husband and brother sent fake Covid positive certificates to Telangana police by whatsapp. When the police noticed some corrections in the certificates issued by a private lab they conducted an investigation and arrested two lab technicians for issuing fake positive certificates.
Based on their investigation the Telangana police booked a forgery case against Ms Akila Priya’s husband Bhargava Ram and brother Jagatvikyatha Reddy. The police are on the lookout for the duo who are absconding.
