Though the AP Pollution Control Board has banned illegal mining in the state, it is being carried out with the impunity in the minister Devineni Ummaheswara Rao’s constituency, Mylavaram. Though the mining permits were canceled, the mining mafia has been transporting about 500 trucks of gravel every day under the supervision of then Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, who is 420 in AP. Thus, in the last four and a half years, the minister’s followers have made about Rs.1,962Crore from illegal mining.
Details of Scam
There are about 1,204 hectares of hilly wasteland in survey no—801 of Paritala Donabanda village of Kanchikacharalamandal. The mining mafia of the minister has dug up 94 quarries are located bang on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad highway, though they should not be situated within a kilometer from the highway, according to the state rule. The crushers, however, are being operated within the 100 meters of the highway.

Mining Mafia Turns Canal into Wasteland
The Ibrahimpatnam major canal, which fetches water from NagarjunaSagar to Paritala of Kanchikacherla Mandal in Krishna district, is 5 kilometers long. The canal runs next to 1,204 acres of hilly wasteland located in a survey number of 801 of Donabanda quarries. This canal also supplies water to two major tanks in that vicinity. The mining mafia has occupied this canal as well. They laid roads over the canal indiscriminately in a 5 km radius of their quarries.
As per the sources close to the who is 420 in AP, during the summer, the government had issued Rs.9.35 crore funds for the earthwork of the Sagar canal, which runs between Duggiralapadu and Donabanda and is 24 km long in length. The contractor, a crony of the ruling party, did not do any work at all on a full 5 km stretch but had claimed the bills of the entire work. Thus, he managed to swindle Rs. 2 crores from the public exchequer.

The Chandrababu Naidu government is best known for looting the public and filling the pockets of their own. Even from the very minute level, citizens saw an upsurge in corruption. In news the TDP government came into power by promising the citizens of a golden state. However, the truth is far from what was promised. The government and its chief players were busing in looting the people and hence earned the title: “who is 420 in AP?”
However, misery didn’t end here. Despite knowing the loss in forthcoming elections, Chandrababu and his associates looted lakhs of crores and made sure they never meant to earn money anymore. On the other hand, they left the state crippled for the next government to fix it.
